Getting started
Overview
HI Engine finds what costs your Shopify store conversions, prices each issue in euros per month, writes the theme change, and tests it. These docs explain each step and what you decide.
HI Engine connects to your Shopify store and your analytics. It looks for the places where visitors give up, puts a monthly euro figure on each one, and proposes a fix. When you approve a fix, the agent writes the theme code, checks it, and publishes it to a draft theme for you to review. Nothing reaches a customer until you publish it in Shopify.
New here?
Start with the Quickstart. It walks through the whole loop once, from connecting Shopify to approving your first change.
What HI Engine does
The product runs one loop, continuously.
- Find. Agents read Shopify, GA4 and behavioural data, then report what changed and where visitors drop off.
- Size. Every finding gets an estimated impact in your store currency, plus a priority score. See How impact is estimated.
- Ship. You approve an idea. The agent writes the theme code, runs Shopify Theme Check, and publishes a draft theme named after the task.
- Test. You split traffic between the old and the new experience, and let your customers pick the winner. HI Engine can run the split, or you can run it in Intelligems, Shoplift or Shopify Rollouts.
Each round feeds the next. A test result changes how the agent ranks the next batch of ideas for your store.
What you decide, and what the agent does
| Step | Who does it |
|---|---|
| Find issues and rank them | HI Engine |
| Approve an idea for build | You |
| Write and validate the theme code | HI Engine |
| Publish to a draft theme | HI Engine |
| Review the draft | You |
| Run the A/B test | HI Engine, or your own testing tool |
| Publish the theme to customers | You, in Shopify |
| Measure the result | HI Engine |
The agent never publishes a live theme. That step stays in your Shopify admin.
Where to start
Quickstart
Connect your store, read your first ideas, and approve one change. About 30 minutes, most of it waiting for data.
How it works
The find, size, ship, test loop in detail — what runs on a schedule, and what waits for you.
Connect your store
Shopify, Google Analytics 4, Click Context, Klaviyo and Slack. Shopify is the only required one.
Review a build
What the agent hands back, how to open the draft theme, and how to ask for a change.
Work from Slack
Ask about your store, get new ideas in-channel, and approve a build without opening the app.
Troubleshooting
Empty dashboards, disconnected integrations, and numbers that disagree with Shopify.
