Connect your store
Connect Klaviyo
Klaviyo gives HI Engine your campaign and flow performance, so email and on-site work can be judged together.
Klaviyo is optional. Connect it when email is a meaningful share of your revenue, and you want ideas that cover both the storefront and the inbox.
Create a read-only API key
Open API keys in Klaviyo
In Klaviyo, go to Settings → Account → API keys.
Create a private key
Click Create Private API Key. Name it HI Engine.
Choose Custom key and grant Read access to these scopes:
| Scope | Access |
|---|---|
| Campaigns | Read |
| Flows | Read |
| Metrics | Read |
| Lists and segments | Read |
| Profiles | Read |
Do not grant write access. HI Engine never sends a campaign, edits a flow, or changes a profile.
Paste it into HI Engine
Open Connections → Klaviyo, paste the key, and click Connect. HI Engine runs a test read and marks the connection active.
What HI Engine reads
- Campaign sends, opens, clicks and attributed revenue.
- Flow performance, by flow and by message.
- List and segment sizes over time.
- The metrics Klaviyo tracks for your store, such as Placed Order and Viewed Product.
Typical findings
- A flow that stopped sending after a template change.
- An abandoned-cart flow whose first message goes out too late.
- A segment that grew while its revenue per recipient fell.
- A campaign whose landing page contradicts the email's offer.
The last one is why Klaviyo is worth connecting: it lets HI Engine compare what the email promises with what the page delivers.
Revoking access
Delete the private key in Klaviyo under Settings → Account → API keys. The connection in HI Engine moves to an error state on the next read.
Connect Click Context
Click Context records what shoppers actually do on your storefront — clicks, rage clicks, scroll depth, form behaviour and JavaScript errors. It is optional, and it makes the findings much more specific.
Connect Slack
HI Engine sets up a Slack channel for your store. New ideas, finished builds and test results arrive there, and you can ask the agent questions in-thread.
