Working with the agent

Ideas

An idea is one proposed change, on one surface, with evidence and an estimated monthly impact. The Ideas board is the list you actually decide on.

Open Ideas in HI Engine. Every row is one change you could approve.

One change, one idea

HI Engine never proposes a bundled overhaul. If the product page needs a sticky add-to-cart button and a clearer size guide, those are two ideas.

This is on purpose. You approve at the level of the change, so you can take one and leave the other.

What each idea carries

FieldWhat it tells you
TitleThe change, in one line
SurfaceWhich page or template it touches
Estimated impactMoney per month, in your store currency
TRICE scoreIts rank against every other open idea
EvidenceThe data behind the claim, with sources and date ranges
PreviewA visual mockup of the change on your own store's design, when one exists

Evidence

Open the Evidence tab to see the numbers. It names each source, the date range, and the sample size. If the evidence rests on a small sample, it says so.

Read an idea's evidence before you approve it. It is the fastest way to catch a proposal that is technically correct and commercially wrong for your business.

Preview

Some ideas carry a Preview tab with an HTML mockup rendered in your own store's design. It shows the intent of the change, not the final build. The built version can differ where your theme requires it.

Statuses

StatusMeaning
OpenProposed, waiting for your decision
ApprovedYou accepted it. It moves to the build queue
BacklogParked. It stays visible and can come back
DismissedYou rejected the idea itself. It does not come back
AppliedBuilt, reviewed and published

Dismissed is final

Dismissing an idea tells HI Engine that this direction is wrong for your store. The agent will not re-propose it, and nobody will ask you to reconsider. Use Backlog if you only mean "not now".

Deciding what to approve

Work top-down by TRICE. The order already accounts for traffic, revenue, effort, confidence and speed — see How impact is estimated.

Three checks before you approve:

  1. Does the evidence match what you know? You know things the data does not, such as a supplier problem or a planned campaign.
  2. Does the change fit your brand? If the copy or the visual direction is wrong, say so in a comment rather than rejecting the idea.
  3. Would you rather test it than ship it? Anything that changes the look of a high-traffic page is a good candidate for an A/B test.

Creating an idea yourself

You can add your own idea. In the web chat or in Slack, describe the change and ask HI Engine to save it as an idea. The agent pulls the supporting data, computes the impact and TRICE score, shows you the draft, and saves it once you confirm.

Ideas you create sit on the same board and get scored the same way.
